[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Rainbows are optical and meteorological phenomena that cause a spectrum of light to appear in the sky when the Sun shines onto droplets of moisture in the Earth's atmosphere. They take the form of a multicoloured arc, with red on the outer part of the arch and violet on the inner section of the arch. More rarely, a secondary rainbow is seen, which is a second, fainter arc, outside the primary arc, with colours in the opposite order, that is, with violet on the outside and red on the inside.

A rainbow spans a continuous spectrum of colours. Traditionally, however, the sequence is quantised. The most commonly cited and remembered sequence, in English, is Newton's sevenfold red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. "Roy G. Biv" and "Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain" are popular mnemonics.

Rainbows can be caused by other forms of water than rain, including mist, spray, dew, fog, and ice. Moreover, rainbows can have shapes other than a bow (arc), including stripes, circles, or even flames.

Hi Haraprasan,
Wonderful scane.Well caught, framed and composed.Colors are very nice.
Thanks for posting.

Interesting enough HP! Prisms and rainbows, then added a small beveled frame which actually enhances the prism effect.

I find rainbows to be of very special significance both in nature and in ancient symbolics. So many meanings and each can change with e day and time and feeling...Very nice way to awaken in the US...to your fine image.

NAMASTAY, my "dear" friend, Haraprasan,
We have an artificial fountain in down town Calgary; on certain days it emits BEAUTIFUL rainbow colours but all in CIRCLES. When ever I take the camera we see nothing to register. It's pond has lovely fishes in it.
Some day I'll get lucky.
Thanks for the EDUCATIVE notes. GREAT REGISTER.
Mario from Calgary.

Hi Haraprasan,

No rainbows here until next month's monsoon season. So it is really nice to see this one. Interesting notes to go along with the pretty rainbow.

Hi Haraprasan. We have the rain but no bow !! Dull and wet in Southern England. You have taken this one well. With all the colours standing out so well. TFS.
Nick..

Hello haraprasan, wonderful rainbow spectra. TFS. Regards,
Deniz

No es fácil captarlo, y menos el enfoque jejeje.

Tienes otras tomas mejores desde luego, pero el arco iris siempre alegra.

Abrazo Haraprasan.

Hi Hara, very beautifull shot,i like a lot this "soft" way to show the colors of the rainbow, very interesting not too, have a nice Sunday,Luciano

Hi Haraprasan, simple and fascinating composition with splendid rainbow, fantastic colors, very well done, have a good Sunday, ciao Silvio

Shooting rainbow pictures is not easy, HP. The light plays funny during the formation of it and I have experienced it while shooting a rainbow in Shimla.
Anyway, you have excluded land from it in this image so the entire focus is on the phenomenon.
It is a good capture and the colours have been captured well.
TFS

Hello Haraprasan

What a lovely and unique posting.
The rainbow cuts through the frame on a nice diagonal.
Very subtle and natural colours.
