I believe you have used fill flash which has turned the background black.
The features of the butterfly with its wings open are weel captured.
Which Pansy would that be? A bit of research to find its ID would have given you a good note.

I like the contrast colour of subject with dark BG.Nice light, the circle on the wings is so fascaniting.Great compo.TFS.

Welcome to TN:)
You start off with a beautiful composition. I am no expert at this, but i guess this is a Common Fivering.The light falling on the butterfly highlights the details on the wings from this Point of View.The dark BG isolates the subject and its perch quite well showing good Depth of Frame.
I wish you could round off this presentation with some notes.
This is a great place to learn and unlearn many things about nature.Have a great time:)
