Very much sorry for the wrong information. Actually this is a Giant Indian Praying Mantis.

This is a common looking Mantis, it's colour varies from greens, browns and sometimes even an unusual silvery green! When adult, this species can measures roughly 100mm in size (dependent on the sex). Again, very similar to the Giant Asian and Giant Malaysian Mantis.

They are tolerant to the temperature and humidity irregularities, so they can be be maintained in a relatively hot environment, with a temperature of 22 - 30C (71.6 - 86F), with the humidity in the region of 60 - 70%.

Hi Haraprasan,
Very nice capture of this monster.Contrast between mantis and black BG seems wonderful.I liked exposure and POV also a lot.
Thanks for posting.

Hello Haraprasan, this is a fine portrait of this Chinese Mantis. I like the portrait format for his with him climbing the piece of wood. Depth of field and lighting is good on this giving us great detail and colour throughout.

Thanks, John

Hi Haraprasa,
a nice picture wih good sharpness and fine details.
ou did composed it in a very nice way too.
But it's too much flash for my liking and it's pity the antennae are cut, otherwise it's fine.
Well done.

Splendida presentazione di questa mantide in una composizione "astratta", ottima nitidezza, molto belli i colori. Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

all things in nature....your mantis is a slight bit different seen here, as ours in the US...wold ours be so brightly coloured, I am sure I would see many more of them. Ours are a bit duller..and we only make them grand through photography. Well seen HP!

Hi Haraprasan,

He looks bigger than any Mantis I have ever seen! Colors and details are wonderful. I love the way he is climbing up the wood. The black background sets him off so well. A really nice vertical composition.

p.s thankyou for adding my latest shot as a favourite :-))

HP, I never tire of looking at this amazing creature that can change its colours according to the surroundings.
Very thoughtfuly cropped image to present it in portrait orientation. Good details and colours. Fill flash has provided a dark BG that suits the subject.
My new lens will be delivered to me today.
