Hi,
I found this little Indian Palm squirrel at the park, busy taking a water break from its scamper activities.

This is also the first time i have worked on different BG since the original BG looked a tad too washed out due the harsh sunlight.I hope this one is acceptable.

These are such delightful little ones to watch, especially with the onset of spring, there are hundreds of them - on tress on the ground ..they run helter skelter looking for food and munching them the moment they are able to get their hands on somthing. The water break is quite an occasional activity, and this one seemed least bothered by my presence.

Indian Palm squirrel
------------------------
The Indian Palm squirrel (Funambulus pennanti), is a native of northern India. Palm squirrels are frequently seen in and around houses in villages and small towns and may cause damage to fruit and vegetable crops.
.
Identification:
---------------
Palm squirrels are about the size of rats with a bushy tail which is slightly shorter than their body.Their back is a grizzled grey-brown colour with five conspicuous white stripes, three of which runfrom head to tail. The two outer stripes run from the forelegs to the hind legs only. They have a creamy white belly and a tail covered with interspersed long black and white hairs. Their ears are small and triangular.

Behaviour, Habitat and Food:
----------------------
Palm squirrels nest in trees, usually pine trees or exotic palms. Unlike other squirrels they do not hibernate, but in winter only emerge in the late afternoon of sunny days. They move with rapid darting movements and climb with great agility.

Reproduction:
------------
Breeding takes place in grass nests during autumn. Litters of two or three are common. The young are weaned after about ten weeks and are sexually mature at nine months.

Thanks for looking in:)

Hello Iris,
a very cute capture, seems to be very curious little critters.
Details are very nice, looks a bit like our chipmunk here in Canada.
Very nicely composed image.

Hi Irishues,
Wonderful shot and a great action moment captured. It really looks very cute and very alert, as they always are. Very neat and sharp image with nice colours, lighting and exposure. Nice DOF isolates it from the smooth BG perfectly and a fine POV to portray this scene. Very nicely composed. Kudos.

Hi Irishues.
I like pictured scene so much. What a cute creature you managed to catch. Its pose as well as entire scene are excellent. I also like exposure of the image, prefect details and texture reproduction, water reflections are cute too. My best wishes and thanks a lot.
Alexei.

Iris,
Such a cute little squirrel. You did a good job photographing it. Obviously something in the background you doidn't like that you try to edit it out. I rather see it the way it is than the version you edited. It may not be perfect to you liking, but not all photos has to be. You trying too hard, I think it look pretty good, except all I see now is where you edited. A smile for the original photo.

I am sorry that earlier I didn’t watch your pictures which are nicely composed and recite a different view of a nature lover. Wonderful shots.

Hallo Irishues
What a adorable fellow and most pleasing shot. This is truly a gorgeous image with lots of detail of the animal itself to appreciate. The cute little ears and nose, the catch-light in the eye and the big black eye itself are just great. The reflection in the water is a bonus. A cute and furry little friend. I tend to agree with the critique of "Waylim” that the editing did more harm than good to this image. But I cannot pass without giving you a smiley for the pose and the cuteness factor. Thanks for sharing, and have an enjoyable day.
Best regards
Anna
