[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Dear Friends,
I would love to present this one to Silvio Sorcini who has delighted us with more than 700 wonderful posts. Each of his post depict the beautiful Umbria of Italy and it’s surroundings and insect and plant life. Silvio’s posts are testimony to the fact that photography needs no language to communicate….it’s the sight that is the medium… through which the photographer communicates with you.

Silvio, thank you for your wonderful captures and I am sure you would continue to share your beautiful world of insect and plant life, seascapes and sunsets with us.

This beautiful bug belongs to Lygaeidae family in the Hemiptera (true bugs) order. The family includes insects commonly known as chinch bugs and also some of those known as seed bugs (the atypical seed bugs, Rhyparochromidae, were formerly placed herein too). Many of the species feed on seeds, although some are predators of other insects, some feed on sap (mucivory), and others feed on blood (hematophagy.

The orange red coloured bugs are generally called milkweed bugs. For the species presented here the closest scientific name I could get after much search was Melanocoryphus albomaculatus.I would be glad if any of my friends here could confirm whether the ID is right.

Thank you for looking in.

Cheers
Silpa:)

Hello Iris.
This is a lovely colourful bug. I like the composition and the fine exposure. Lovely colours and I like the contrast with the textures in the BG.

Best regards Siggi

A beautifully structured hemipteran captured expertly on a fine looking composite floret group Silpa, all composed nicely over a greenish OOF BG. Thank you for sharing this with us my friend, I'm sure Silvio will be delighted with your kind dedication.

Hello Silpa,
An excellent macro of this bug, taken from a fine POV on the yellow flower with excellent sharpness, colours and lighting.
Even in Europe there are several species of this type that closely resemble each other, so I could not venture to give you an ID, but it is a type of Firebug ( because of its flame-like colours)
Nice tribute to Silvio, I sure he would be delighted.
Thanks for sharing this beauty,
Best regards,
Ivan

Bravo, my dear friend. It is simply amazing close-up taken with highest skill. I love all at this masterpiece. Outstanding reproduction of space. Shot looks like great three-dimensional image. DOF, details and sharpness of the beautiful beetle and so fine flower are fantastic and cannot be better. Lights, colours damped up dark-green BG are superb too9. My congratulations and TFS.

I have heard nothing but good about that camera! And your images are better than the ones Canon uses to sell the camera..I almost bought one in the past two weeks. You show well by putting it though it's pace and coming up with superior work!

Extraordinarily sharp image of this Seed Bug on a pretty yellow flower, Silpa.
I think this is your best image in the macro class thus far.

Hallo Silpa
You have delighted my eyes and my heart with this beautiful and colourful image, jam packed with beauty and splendour. It is a warm and inviting image, and reminds me of the qualities true to our mutual friend Silvio to whom you have dedicated it to. The colours of both the flower and the insect are striking and sharp, just as the details of the patterns and markings on the bugs shield and the anthers of the flower is clear and obvious. This is my kind of photograph. Colourful, warm, unpretentious and pleasing to the eye. It is good to see you back with your charming presentations and of course your charming personality. Like Silvio would say: BRAVISSIMA!!
Anna
