SEED BUG

To continue with my theme of eco-systems that exist on a single plant, I am posting another picture from my trip to Gurgaon last Saturday.
I found quite a few bugs existing on an Asian Milk Weed plant, eating its leaves and flowers.

The Lygaeidae are a family in the Hemiptera (true bugs), comprising twenty-one genera.
The family includes insects commonly known as chinch bugs and also some of those known as seed bugs (the atypical seed bugs, Rhyparochromidae, were formerly placed herein too). Many of the species feed on seeds, although some are predators of other insects, some feed on sap (mucivory), and others feed on blood (hematophagy).

The bizarre and mysterious beetle-like Psamminae were formerly often placed in the Piesmatidae, but this is almost certainly quite incorrect. Their true affiliations, however, are not entirely resolved to satisfaction.

Thanks for looking and have a nice day.

There are times when I feel I can tkae a bug or leave it...So many...and this one is well seen, but how about the plant? did you know...as I read from teh following:
""Sweet urine" has been treated in India for centuries with Gymnema sylvestre, a plant that is a member of the milk weed family and is known as the "sugar destroyer" in the Ayurvedic medical tradition."?

Wow...Now that REALLY adds a twist to your themes here Ram....Always a good game to play in nature...In a way I am striking the same or similar theme today as although not focused on small ecosystems and single pants....very interesting and good in a dynamic way! almost synergistic!

Hola Ram.
Muy bellos colores los del inscto que combinan exelemtemente con el pequeño fruto en color blanco. Alta calidad y nitidez en la presentacion asi como un agradable fondo difuso que no interfiere con el objetivo principal.
Saludos Ram.
