"The common bluebottle is known for quick flight and rapid reactions. It is difficult to catch." (Ref: - Wikipedia). I hope that explains the blurriness on the wings!! Although I managed to get a pretty decent shot of its green cousin, the Green triangle butterfly ( http://www.treknature.com/viewphotos.php?l=3&p=215379), I could not get a similar one for this, no matter how hard I tried, running after it in very harsh sun and scorching heat.
Graphium sarpedon, the common bluebottle or blue triangle (Australia), is a species of swallowtail butterfly found in South and Southeast Asia, as well as parts of Australia.
It is a huge, beautiful butterfly, wingspans between 55 and 75 mm.
The scientific classification for this one is -
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Arthropoda
Class: Insecta
Order: Lepidoptera
Family: Papilionidae
Genus: Graphium
Species: G. sarpedon |

Hi Richa,
You have a wonderful gallery and I liked each one. This also is a fine image and you have freezed the action skilfully. But this is Common Jay, an equally beautiful butterfly. Very neat and sharp image and the Lantana flowers add so much more colour to the frame. Excellent POV, DOF and composition. Kudos.
TFS.
