[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I am not sure which insect is this, but I have seen pictures of it posted before on TN, so I think I will get the ID soon.

I have few things to tell about it. I do not know from where they came, but all of a sudden we saw many of them flying in the air. And while flying, they look like as it an insect has held its prey in its mouth. It was only when I was done clicking pictures of this one and it flew, I realized how different it looks from others... But it is hard to capture one flying. They are too fast to focus on.

The other thing that I noticed was the massive destruction of the flora by them. One might not believe without seeing, but they chew anything and everything they rest upon. Overnight the public opinion them of them changed from "red beauty" to "destructive beetles"...


Guess that is how nature works....!

Hi Richa,
I also don't know which insect it is, but I like the photo. Well chosen focus, nice warm color tones, great composition - what You have to be a bit more careful next time is the background blur. Try to remove it with using "noise reduction" or "gaussian blur" filter in Your Photoshop (of course selectively to the background only). Otherwise a very nice capture. And we're neighbours today in the gallery... :)

Marvellous macro capture of this red-black banded insect! The sharpness and POV are simply great with nice use of the shallow DOF. The colors are very natural and greatly shown in the picture. I like the way the insect is hanging on the flower. Indeed, your title is interesting. Nice composition!
