I believe this antlion is from Myrmeleontidae
of the insect order Neuroptera, as suggested by Catherine..
I loved the fact that it chose to oblige me to take few shots even when I was keeping my camera on almost its nose. Very patiently it sat through the photo-session and did not flinch even once, despite the increasing proximity of the lens. Though at the last stage, it lifted its front legs and looked ready to attack the intruder and hence I decided to back off.
The photo has not been modified in anyway, except inclusion of a simple frame and adjusting levels a bit - no cropping, nothing else.

Hello Richa,
Nice portrait, very sharp of this Ant-Lion (Family of Myrmeleontidae), maybe Palpares libelluloides? Not really a dragonfly, but a more elegant insect, I think. Your macro shot is very impressive, with nice details on the eyes and legs. TFS,
Catherine
Hello Richa
this insect have really beautiful and big eyes, i like your point of view

TFS Jacqueline
Catherine's observation is right, Richa. This is not a dragonfly but an Ant Lion. Dragonflies don't have antennae. The shape of their eyes is also different. An Ant Lion has a wing pattern that looks like lace.
This is a very good macro you have managed with your point-and-shoot camera. Apparently, you were interested in a close-up shot of the eyes and you have succeeded well.
Sorry, I'm not regular on TN anymore and thanks for your critique on my Blue Pansy picture.
