Hello everyone.
This very simple but (I think) beautiful sunset was captured 2 years ago, on my 1st Marriage Anniversary, which me and my wife celebrated in Dharamsala and which has been one of the best vacations we have ever had together.
This one's to my wife for hanging on to me through the good and the bad times, accepting my excuses for the goof ups that I end up in and tolerating my tantrums. We have learnt and learnt the hard way that after every sun set, there is ALWAYS a sunrise...only this time though, we named our sunrise, Rudra... our 4 month old baby boy.

------------------------------------------------------
About the photo...I was always in a dilemma, whether I should post the photo or not... cause it's a very simple one but I always thought there was something very nice about the photo. I love the way the straight line of the horizon just melted a little right below the sun, as if just giving the sun an extra few seconds of glory.

Please let me know if it was plain stupid to post this one :)
Thanks for stopping by.

Kirti

Hi Kirti,
no, definitely not a stupid idea to post this one...how can it be when it's a beautiful tribute to your family life?! It's simplicity is what makes it's special. I love the way the sun has distorted the horizon here..
Paul

Hi Kirti!

I think it was a good idea to post. I like it unsharp and simple, it gives all the attention to the beautiful colors! Very nice dedication to your wife. TFS!

Best regards,
Andor

Hi Kirti,
I think the shot is really good.
The mysterious shadows below make the photo more "rich" in meaning. but of course the melting effect is the key point.
when a good photo is a simple photo then it is a very good photo.
My sincere greetings to you and your wife.
and hi to Rudra :-)

Hello Kirti!
Amazing sunset. Wonderful composition. Good contrast. Very good capture. Fantastic picture. Great effect. Good luck!

Hello Kirti,

Bellissima immagine, interessante e riuscito lavoro pił artistico che fotografico. Meravigliosa dedica. Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

Hello Kirti,
Every one looks at things at a different way, but this means so much to you and your wife, of course it's good posting!
this shot looks so dreamy with the blurness from the shot!
Kirti, are you using auto or programme mode to have the f/10 as shown! may be you like to have the shot as blur!
thanks for sharing
Tony

I know Dharamsala like the back of my hand since 1964 when I attended an All India Senior Wing NCC camp at Macleodganj cantt.
The dark sihouettes of pines in the foreground suggest you took this sunset shot from an elevation. Was it Macleodganj? The sunset from there would give you the straight line of Punjab plains.
Technically, it may not be a perfect shot but there is something about it that reminds me of the avant-garde form of expression even in photography.
I particularly like those layers of diverse colours on the sun itself.
All the best.
Ram

An amazingly simple shot, that looks like it's an oil canvass.
Very nice and warm colours, bro!
Way to go!
Cheers!
Goldy

Hello Kirti. Very graphical presentation of the sunset. The title fits with the sun dropping down below the horizon. Well done and best regards. Jusni

Hello Kirti,

I think that it is beautiful photo with beautiful dedication your wife... probably your heart was melting as this horizon when you met her.:)

Best regards

Gordana

Hello Kirti this is a simple but beautifully composed shot with excellent warm tones and good balance between light and dark. Creative work tfs rgds Necip.

Hey J1

An Amazing shot. The trees & 3 different color belts in the sun are amazing. It looks as if the sun is forcefully pressing the horizon.

Hi Kirti,
simple but very effective, I like this a lot. It's a case of "less is more" I think.
