It certainly is a Crested Himalayan Bulbul, Goldy.
I am happy to know that one of my pictures confirmed your search for the ID of this bird.
It is a delightful image of this bird perched atop a plant and singing away merrily. You have captured the expression of joy on its face very effectively.
The features of this species of Bulbuls are very clear and distinct in this image.

Hi Goldy,

You are so right! I know I have learned more about nature and photography in the past two year here on TN then I learned in all the previous years. It's wonderful how we all have much we can learn and something to teach others. I have loved Bulbuls since I saw them in India but I've not seen this one before. You captured him in a wonderful pose showing off the crest and lovely eye so well. Opened beaks are always my favorites.

I'm not sure why, but this fellow has the look of a surprised student trying to give the teacher the correct answer when he has no idea what the subject is due to a wandering mind! It's got that perpetual surprised look, even, almost, what did I do now attitude...

Gotta love those shots like these - thanks for sharing.

the learnings continue and your doing great shots of birds,
excellent image of this Bulbul with fine POV & DOF,
for the framing i would give a little bit less space at the back
of the bird and a little bit more infront of the bird,
infront wher he is looking, the luminosity is wonderful
and excellent sharpness and details, TFS
