Just an ordinary honey bee -- my first macro "capture" with a digital camera.
Not knowing what to do, I gave hot chase to lots of them busy as "bees" on a hill slope in Shimla. Very difficult subjects to capture, one of them even stung me out of spite for being disturbed at work!
I finally "cornered" this fellow here, who seems more asleep than awake in this desperate shot of a zealous first-time nature photographer. Enjoy! |

Nice and sharp picture, I like the details of the fly, composition and colors are very good too.
Hi Ram,
congratulation for your first makro-shot - it's very nice with good sharpness. Also a pretty arrangement with nice colours.
Sorry - this is not a bee - this is a hoverfly.
There are so many different species - and they imitate other insects. This indeed looks like a bee, but you can see the difference at the big eyes. Bees have smaller eyes at the head, flies seem to have only eyes instead of a head ;-) Thanks for sharing, bye bye

For a first time bee shot I think you've done and excellent job. The whole is framed nicely and the flowers don't look overexposed which is a problem I had when attempting the same thing. The bee it self is very clear and sharp, well done.
very nice composition and colors.

Ram,
This is a wonderful shot -- one that I wouldn't be able to take. I have an irrational fear of all buzzing insects. They fascinate me on the computer screen though, so thanks! The detail is marvelous.
