Goldy, this is a very exotic species of a winged insect. I wish I could ID it for you. It has a a hairy thorax with olive green down on it.
Even the coloured bands at the bottom of the abdomen are something quite different.
It is a very good image in which the colour of the purple flowers goes well with the main subject.
TFs and regards.

I still have an album or two back when we called them albums...now we hardly use photo albums any longer more or less record albums...Honestly I have not seen anything like this insect before...a simple bee it isn't...it looks as though it is ready for trick or treat a few months early. I shall make an attempt to look it up but I am not very good at it.

Hi Goldy,
That's an unusual looking insect! You have wonderful colors and details - wouldn't have needed much editing anyway. A very pretty scene with the violet flower and the nice green leaves.

Hello Goldy,
Excellent sharp picture of this Hummingbird Moth. Beautiful composition. This one has a different and beautiful colour than the one I am use to see in summer. I hope to see this kind of moth this year and have the opportunity to take a picture.
