[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This aerial photograph of Himalayas is clicked from 45,000 feet above sea level.

The Himalayan mountain system developed in a series of stages 30 to 50 million years ago. The Himalayan range was created from powerful earth movements that occurred as the Indian plate pressed against the Eurasian continental plate. The earth movements raised the deposits laid down in the ancient, shallow Tethys Sea (on the present site of the mountains) to form the Himalayan ranges from Pakistan eastward across northern India, and from Nepal and Bhutan to the Myanmar (Burmese) border.

Even today the mountains continue to develop and change, and earthquakes and tremors are frequent in the area. Refer:http://www.uttaranchal.ws/him.htm

Hello Subhash,
This is an area of the world I love, it's beautiful. This image gives us a good idea of the sheer size of the area and of the mountains, taken from 45000ft but it looks as if you are just above hte mountain tops. Truly a beautiful place. A good image too showing a great expanse. Thanks for sharing.
Regards,
Adrian

What a wonderful opportunity...a far ways from my house finch I posted today in the sunny back porch:-)

Hi Subhash

Excellent aerial shot - the main glaciated valley and pyramidal peaks and aretes show up very well. Very good detail here and nice composition.

Doctor Sab,
The picture was supposed to be clicked from aircraft. A nice shot but how you linked it to Pakistan? If it is Drass range, the camera is focused to wards north. That means China occupied Karakoram zone?

So high level of taking picture make the great mountains look like small hills, great picture of winter landscape- so many snow everywhere. Looks great! cheers
Adrian

amazing mountains, but this photo lacks in a focusing point, it just doesn't have anything that really grabs or holds the attention

Subhash (Dr.),
An OUTSTANDING image.
This one needs no further comments.
From -9*C with WARM greetings.
