The confluence of Indus with Zanskar is very obvious on the Leh Srinagar highway around 25 miles away from Leh. I have stopped again & again to click this wonderful landscape. The high altitude (>12,000 feet ASL) mountainous desert around with deep canyons is unique & reflects various colors as sun changes its position above them. The color of Indus river is turquoise blue where as Zanskar is muddy brown. After confluence the river is known as Indus and it moves towards right side into Pakistan.
