[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Friends, many of you might recall my association with bees in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia when I was living there. They had built a little honey-comb on the fig tree in the small garden in our compound. I was scared of them in the beginning, but gradually we started getting bonded as I started getting nearer and nearer to them. A time came when we got so close I would blow on the honey-comb to disperse the little bees and have a closer look at the intricate structure of the comb. They would crawl over my hands and camera and sometimes over my face.
I posted numerous pictures of that honey-comb in 2006 and our association eneded when I saw them missing from the compound after my return from summer vacation.

Here in India, I have been in close contact with another colony of these small-sized bees. They have built a honey-comb on a mulberry tree on the park next to my school. Once a day, I go out to them and see how they are doing. One day they had a problem in their hands -- the comb had started melting away in the heat and they were trying frantically to put it together again, which they eventually did. I watched the show for half an hour!
Here is their honey-comb up in the tree. I cannot get closer to them so one day in May, I stood under the tree and took this picture, hand-held, from a distance of about one and a half meter.
About honey bees, everyone knows quite a lot, so I will skip the usual note on them.
Thanks for looking and expressing your opinion if you so wish.

PS: Unfortunately, I have lost exif data on this picture.

Hello Ram,
I couldn't make out from the thumbnail what this was but this is a splendid view of the pretty little Bees on the honey-comb. I remember well your similar post from Riyadh!
I hope it doesn't melt away for them again!
Thanks for showing this interesting image!
Best wishes, Ulla

Hi Ram

A real TN posting, showing us something we do not see so often in northern climes (I remember many bee nests in India - notably at Fatepur Sikri, Akbar's Mausoleum ....) A great representatio of this busy scene.

Hi Ram,

I remember well your bees from Riyadh. So glad you found this honeycomb near your school. This is not a sight most of us get to see - or, if we do, are willing to get close to. Wonderful shot with superb colors and excellent details. I wonder how many are there so closely packed.

Jane

You could have just as well said "Binding with Bees" I suppose. Something that would catch my ear right off...ha! Very good..I see you twice in a row in my own fav's I wo9nder how that happened....so go and write!
