[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A wasp is a predatory, flying, stinging insect, with a stinger and membranous forewings and hindwings. It is related to ants and bees, with all of them being members of order Hymenoptera, but is separated from ants and bees by having a stinger and no hair; bees have hair. A rough definition of the term wasp is any member of the aculeate family Vespidae. Almost every pest insect species has at least one wasp species that preys upon it, making wasps critically important in natural control of their numbers, or natural biocontrol. Parasitic wasps are increasingly used in agricultural pest control as they prey mostly on pest insects and have little impact on crops.

Posting a picture after a long time. Occasionally steal a peak at TN gallery at work, but that's all. Today is the Independence Day of our country and it is a holiday, so just making use of the opportunity to post a picture.
Thanks for looking.

Namastay, Mr. Thakur!

I wish you a Happy Independence Day!

What a great shot of the was 'in action'!
It may be the shot of the day, I personally feel. The details are wonderful and so are the natural colors of the wasp. I like the eyes telling their own story...simply amazing! The blurred BG is just beyond imagination.
Very well seen!

Thanks for posting.

best regards,
Paras Bhalla

Nice that you could use some of your limited free time to post this fine macro of this totally yellow wasp. The frontal POV was taken with excellent sharpness and lighting against a pleasing neutral BG to produce a fascinating image.

Hello Ram,
Happy to see a picture from you again! It's amazing, but when people get in pension, they work even more than before :-)!
Fascinating portrait of a wasp, taken from a special point of view, making it look like an alien. Good to mention their role of natural biocontrol for balance of species. Here we see a lot less wasps as before, I wonder why.
Have a
nice weekend and take care
Anne

Wonderful capture. Your macro works are really amusing.

Never been a stinger looked so smart. This is the first time I have been able to look at it from such a close distance, thanks to the crisp image you shared.
