Slender Skimmer or Orthetrum sabina

Thanks to the moderators of TN, we are now allowed to post pictures in size 300KB or less.
Obviously, my picture today is 295KB or thereabout.

Orthetrum sabina is a common and widespread dragonfly found all over Asia and parts of Australia, the Middle East and Northern Africa.
The skimmers or perchers and their relatives form the Libellulidae, the largest dragonfly family in the world. It is sometimes considered to contain the Corduliidae as the subfamily Corduliinae and the Macromiidae as the subfamily Macromiinae. Even if these are excluded (as Silsby does) we are left with a family of over 1000 species. With nearly worldwide distribution these are almost certainly the most often seen of the dragonflies.
The genus Libellula is mostly New World, but also boasts one of the few endangered odonates from Japan - Libellula angelina. Many of the members of this genus are brightly colored or have banded wings. The related genus Plathemis includes the whitetails. The genus Celithemis contains several brightly marked species in the southern United States. Members of the genus Sympetrum are called darters (or meadowhawks in North America), and are found throughout most of the world. Several Southern Hemisphere species in the genera Trithemis and Zenithoptera are especially beautiful. Other common genera include Tramea and Pantala.

Hola Ram.
Excelente captura y magníficos reflejos.
Preciosa transparencia de las alas.
Un cordial saludo, JL.

Obviously you are an expert in finding unique viewpoints while photographing d.flies Ram, a case in point, the present posting is no good if your intention is to demonstrate the abdomen, but on the other hand, if you would like to show the four wings in 3-D against a complimentary BG, then it is perfect! Priorities, my friend!

Lovely capture of this Orthetrum sp. in a fine post on the pink-edged leaf! Interesting POV and very fine focus on the glassy wings.
Great sharpness and fine colours too against the dark background.

Hi Ram,
Another wonderful shot of this elegant skimmer perched so nicely on that white leaf. Lovely colours and sharpness with superb natural lighting. I like the sheen on its gossamer wings and your chosen POV to portray it. Very nicely composed. Kudos.
