Rauvolfia tetraphylla.
Common names: Be Still Tree, Devil Root, Devil-Pepper, Four-Leaf Devil-Pepper, Milkbush.
Plant: 2m. Small shrub or tree with latex.
Leaves: Whorled, medium to dark green in color, and occur in groups of 4 unequally-sized leaves at each node.
Flower: White, very small.
Fruit: Bright red berries that turn black as they ripen.
Native to tropical America.
The latex has been reported to be emetic, cathartic, and expectorant and is used for treating dropsy. The fruit juice is used as a substitute for ink.
The roots yield the drug deserpidine, which is an antihypertensive and tranquilizer.

I looked at the flowers too, Nirmal.
The fruit, apparently, catches the eye because of the bright red colour. The green of the leaves enhances the appeal of the red and makes this a fine composition.
Thanks for identifying the flower I posted yesterday. Not much thought had gone into it while shooting this picture last Sunday on the banks of the river Yamuna.

Wonderful shot of these bright red berries and they stand out so beautifully from the green surrounding. Fantastic visual effect. Very impressive sharpness and colours with perfect light and exposure handling. Excellent POV and composition. Kudos.
