Michelia champaca.
Synonym: Magnolia champaca.
Common name: Joy Perfume Tree.
Common Hindi names: Champa, Champak.
Plant: Evergreen tree. Attaining a height of 33m or more and a girth of 2.4-3.7m or more under ordinary forest conditions.
Leaves: 13-25cm long, 5-9cm wide, lanceolate, glabrous.
Flower: Not very showy but strongly fragrant. Yellow or white.
Champak is native to South Asia and Southeast Asia.
The flowers are used in Southeast Asia for several purposes. They are floated in bowls of water to scent the room, as a fragrant decoration for bridal beds, and for garlands and hair ointments. Champak flowers are also used to produce an essential oil for perfume.

A beautiful, unique flower, nice composition, sharpness and exposure. Looks a bit green though, are the flowers greenish white or is that a result of the light filtering through the leaves on the tree?

Interesting Magnolia flower, the characteristics of plant are for Magnolia genus. In Romania are acclinatized some species of Magnolia genus. Very beautiful species.
