Hello Neighbour!

You have nothing to apologize for! A white background is always tough to work with and you've done very well here. I have not had a chance to see this bird before so to me, your picture and an informative note is very useful. You've captured this bird in its natural habitat, with good detail and a great composition. I'd say TFS and great work!

Best Regards,

Martin

Hi Goldy,

Our cameras are not the best in low light situations but you managed a good sharp shot of this Heron. The face and plummage are very good and there is a nice catchlight in his eye. I love the way he is standing on the branch - somehow I just don't expect to see a Heron in a tree.

Jane

Hello Goldy,
This consider to be a good shot even with this sort of light condition!

Hi Goldy,

No apologies necessary we all have one of those days were the weather conspires against us, and a backlight subject on a grey day is by no means easy, you've managed to capture some good detail in a well framed and composed image, worth the posting, t.f.s

Cheers Rick

Hi Goldy

Great shot of this night heron - I really like the way you have used the feathery leaves to frame it.

Hello Goldy,
For sheer artistry in composition this is excellent! The central composition works well because of the natural framing of this young Black-crowned Night Heron by the branches and foliage of the tree that it is resting in and the POV and pose against the ligt sky are superb. So these factors make this a fine posting, despite the chromatic aberration.
TFS,
Best wishes, Ivan

I don't know whether we would ever manage another trip to India but thanks for your kind invitation, Goldy.

Hi Goldy,

Excellent capture of this Night Heron. Very good POV and composition. Bad lighting has obviously affected the shot but the only thing that could have made it better would have been a good flash with extender for fill light. You rarely have that on hand unless you really expected to use it. Good work.

Hi Goldy,
Very nice capture.I liked POV,framing, pose of bird and composition a lot.
Thanks for posting.

I like the catchlight in the bird's eye, Goldy.
Framed within the foliage, the subject looks good.
Thanks for giving me your whereabouts.
We Delhi based photographers must meet once.
What do you say?
TFS and regards.
Ram

It is certainly a combination of the natural framing and your style here Goldy. Th tree or bush branches give it a flavor which is somewhat archtypical in my mind. And then again add your style or certain quality which you seem to be able to morph into and out of at will:-) I'll get it figur3d out some day, but I doubt whether I would attempt to copy it consciously.

Hi Goldy,
Great looking specie of bird the BC Night heron..
I've only shot the Green Heron here in Texas once, down at the river.
Thank you,
Howard

Dear Goldy,
I am impressed with your focus on JCNP & it's ecosystem;BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON is one example. I am again most delighted to see that there are only few on the web who are trying to push the image and awareness about the tigers of this region globally. More so ever again and again JCNP has always something new to us; tiger or non-tiger ! Keep on doing good job. Hopefully to see you sometime at this reserve only :)

Hello Goldy,
The Night Heron is a very beautiful bird and even though details are not so sharp here I really like its profile against the sky and up in the tree surrounded by the green leaves.
It feels as if I'm standing below myself looking up in the late afternoon light.
Many thanks, Ulla

Ottima l'idea di documentare tutte le specie presenti, molto bella la composizione con il giovane di nitticora nell'ambiente, sotto l'aspetto fotografico il tipo di ripresa in controluce è molto difficile. Grazie e complimenti. Ciao Maurizio

hello Goldy

on your image, it is the POV that i love most and the way the night heron
beeing in the middle of the image it is framed by the leafs and
the branches, and that catch-light at the ye that it change alot
the aspect of the photography by improving it, TFS
