Driving through lovely road of Corbett National Park one would encounter many moments to see the Red Jungle Fowl (Gallus gallus). However to click a descent picture, it takes many attempts since they are very swift & shy. The fowl flies away the moment it senses any trivial threat. I was lucky to get this photo after almost 20 attempts. I have cropped the image so it stands out, though the sharpness has reduced. Aim is to shows beautiful color display on male.
Male and female birds of jungle fowl show very strong sexual dimorphism. Males are much larger; they have large red fleshy wattles on the head and long, bright gold and bronze feathers forming a "shawl" or "cape" over the back of the bird from the neck to the lower back. The tail is composed of long, arching feathers that initially look black but shimmer with blue, purple and green in good light.

Hey Ranjan!
Thanks for the change.I'm really passionate about this National Park, and I'm sure you realize why I feel that way!
And this is a superb capture, though I agree, sharpness could be better! But that you've captured it itself is very nice since these are easily spooked.
Very well done!
Happy Holi!
