This Elephant seemed to be so sad, had tear streaks, and looked to be quite young....

Here's one of my all-time favourites from the world of poetry...Wordsworth for you, again...

THE SOLITARY REAPER

Behold her, single in the field
Yon solitary highland lass!
Reaping and singing by herself;
Stop here, or gently pass!
Alone she cuts and binds the grain,
and sings a melancholy strain;
O listen! for the vale profound
Is overflowing with the sound.

No Nightingale did ever chaunt [chant]
More welcome notes to weary bands
Of travellers in some shady haunt,
Among Arabian sands:
A voice so thrilling ne'er was heard
In springtime from the Cuckoo-bird,
Breaking the silence of the seas
Among the farthest Hebrides.

Will no one tell me what she sings?--
Perhaps the plaintive numbers flow
For old, unhappy, far-off things,
And battles long ago:
Or is it some more humble lay,
familiar matter of to-day?
Some natural sorrow, loss, or pain,
That has been or may be again?

Whate'er the theme, the Maiden sang
As if her song could have no ending;
I saw her singing at her work
And o'er the sickle bending;--
I listened, motionless and still;
And, as I mounted up the hill
The music in my heart I bore,
Long after it was heard no more.

There you go one more time ElephantMan. Great shot of this elephant in the wilderness, though not very high on detail and exposure but nice POV and a there is a soft glow in the picture making it look like it's about to rain.

Hello Goldy, I lke the view and the landscape. But would have been better if the lighting is more and also little more exposure. Personal opinion. Ganesh

Hello Goldy,
Very gloomy colouration well suitable for the crying young elephant in the wilderness! a good poem that goes side by side with it,
well done and composed
greeting
Tony

Hi Goldy, the image goes well with the poem, emotive subject and TFS regards h

You have an unusual method of imaging which seems to be consistent in much of what you do and it is slowly becoming your signature method!
Bob

Hello Goldy,
Great capture, of this amazingly intelligent animal. I have seen them mourn over the bones of their ancestors. Thank you for sharing this nice image Goldy.

Hi Goldy,

nice capture from your favourit animal,good composition and beautiful light and colors.

It is more than evident that you are an ardent admirer of Romantic Poetry, Goldy :-).
Instead of writing a note on the subject, you quote Wordsworth's famous poem.
But I like it, because I too love Romantic poets :).
This is a good image of a young tusker from your favourite haunt -- Jim Corbett Park.
Yes, the animal does seem to be somewhat under the weather.
Thanks and take care.

Hi Goldy.
You are right. Animal looks like sad and you managed to reflect its state of mood very good. Image is soft a bit and I am interested for is it natural colours or it is matter of white balance. However, the main key is nice picture
