I'd posted the first of these elephant grass shots quite sometime back..
This one goes to show the actual height of the grass.
This grass acts as the perfect cover for not just elephants but also animals of prey like tigers, which need cover to a great extent before they attack.
This elephant was one of a herd that was surrounding us,she had a young one she was prodding into the grass (the young one's not visible here). The matriach of the group would shortly after this shot, mock charge at us...That in another post later.
Hope you like this shot..
TFL.

Hello Goldy,
For a moment I got lost in the memories of childhood when we cross village. Excellent composition and lovely one from your archive.

Hi Goldy!

It must be impressive to be so close to a wild elephant that moreover is a female with a young elephant. Grrr, I would be careful.

Excellent documentation of wildlife in a Natioanl Park although I believe there's a tiny yellow cast.

Kind regards

Markus

Hello Goldy,

Very nice composition. Good sharpness and natural colours. I like very much the forest on the mountain in the far instead of a blue sky.
Cheers,
Mariki

Hi Goldy,

This certainly shows us just how tall elephant grass is. The elephant gives us a perfect perspective. I love the natural colors and the composition of this shot seeing her just off the trail and with the trees and mountains in the background. Nature at its best.

Hi Goldy.
You managed to take landscape and animal shot at the same time. Very impressive place. Especially I like remote hills covered by rich vegetation. Wonderful colours. You have selected DOF very well. All scene and its main hero are reflected perfectly. My compliments and kind regards.
Alexei.

Hello Goldy. Interesting to see elephant in the wild with tracks for human as well . Nice picture and thanks for sharing. Regards. Jusni

There is a certain mystique to the VERY large mammal leaving stage right. One wonders why it took the path much less traveled, but then again being that big...it can take any path is chooses!:-)
Bob

Very nice tones int this Goldy. The way you captured the elephant half in the grass and with the road off to the side makes a beautiful composition. TFS

Hi Goldy,
Outstanding shot and you have captured some fine details. The warm lighting gives the image an added touch. Great to see a mammoth Elephant grazing among the tall grasses and the dirt road winds up nice into the park. Excellent view and you portray the scene so beautifully with your chosen POV. Very nicely composed. Kudos.
TFS.

Yes, I recall having seen your earlier picture on this grass, Goldy.
It is an interesting shot of a mom elephant trying to hide its baby from human prying eyes. The grass is quite tall nad aptly named.
I like that rugged safari road within the frame.
Thanks and all the best.
Ram

Hi Goldy, lovely composition from Africa with splendid elephant, wonderful colors, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hello Goldy,
Great image and note my friend. So what does one do if a few thousand kilos of elephant charges you from this long grass. I think if he was charging me he would like the smell, if you know what I mean. Thanks for sharing this great capture Goldy.
Rick

Hi goldy nice shot very good colours and nice composition
tfs Toba

Hello Goldy,
The image gives new meaning to the term "elephant grass", as I can see an elephant actually can hide in there!
I like the composition with the dirt road winding into the scenery, and inclusion of surroundings to show the habitat...
Well balanced and a good sense of depth!
Greetings,
Pablo -
