[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is one of the most memorbable experience from my Corbett trip.
Elephant charges are ususally mock charges, but we did skip quite a few beats when this female elephants charged.
Our last day at Corbett looked like it was going to be a disappointing one. It had rained heavily at night and didn't seem like the cloud cover was going to lift soon. Near an area called Kanda road, we came across a herd of elephants. We stopped at a considerable distance so that they could cross the road. All of a sudden this female elephant charged at our jeep! Our driver and guide were unaware of her charging. The gypsy in front immediately backed fast. I was clicking her snaps when she charged, but after a couple of clicks I realised that our gypsy was not moving. She came so close that she was probably just inches away from me and my friend who were in the back seat, as our gypsy was facing the other direction. Thankfully she just stamped her foot hard on the ground, trumpeted really loudly twice and turned around to our relief!I was too stunned and shocked to see her so close so don't have any shots of her so close. But that was not all... minutes after this another one charged.... about that in the next post!

Hi Swati. A very colurful picture of what could have been a very bad end to your trip. The elephant looked not to pleased with you. you have captured a good shot with detail and colours ,and a sense of movement . well done TFs.
Nick..

Hello Swati
I see you took this at 170mm..That is close enough for a close up shot of a charging elephant be it a mock charge or not!!
You have captured a fantastic moment and your notes are great and make a fascinating read...I look forward to your next post.
Best Regards
Paul

Hey Swati,
This is a stunner of a shot!
Very well done!
Cheers!

Swati, you have conveyed the excitement and the fear very effectively through your note and through your action shot.
That is real wild life for you!
Despite your tembling hands, you have shot a wonderful picture. The aggression in the animal's charging stance is palpable but one also sneaks a peek at the authenticity of the Park ambience in his remarkable picture.
Well done and TFS.

Nice action shot Swati,
I like the comp & POV as the animal trots quickly towards me..
Nice warm color, exposure, and good detail @ 1/200th.

Swati, your running behind the elephant continues. Each one of them are master piece of its own. Lovely collection I must say. Ganesh
