The sun was just setting when this was taken.
The Blue-tailed Bee-eater, Merops philippinus is a near passerine bird in the bee-eater family Meropidae. It breeds in southeastern Asia. It is strongly migratory.This species, like other bee-eaters, is a richly-coloured, slender bird. It is predominantly green; its face has a narrow blue patch with a black eye stripe, and a yellow and brown throat; the tail is blue and the beak is black. |

Swati, you got this bird from a good point of view. However, the subject is too far away and small to show its features and colours clearly. Did you try a tight crop?
Normally, a good zoom lens comes in handy for taking bird pictures from a distance.
If you have a point-and-shoot camera, the only way is to get as close to the subject as possible.
Nevertheless, this is a good effort and you should do better with more practice in bird photography.
