I'd gone home over this extended weekend.I saw this very small butterfly.I do not know its name or anything about it.Can anyone help me identify this?
I do know this is not as sharp as could be, apologies on that count, as well.

Tony

Hello Goldy,

Sorry, I can't help you with the ID.
You're have here a very good picture.
good macro shot wit lots of details and with beautiful colours.

Gert

HP has given you the correct ID of this small butterfly, Goldy. You can see my recent pictures of it to cross-check the ID. Of course, you have got the best view with its wings open and you have captured it well.
We (Gannu and I) are meeting Sumon Sinha from Bhubaneshwar today at 5.30 pm and we would sit in the Standard restaurant above Regal Cinema (Connought Place) for about an hour or so. I lost your phone number, so please try to join us if you are free.

Hi L'il Brother Goldy,
A wonderful shot of this Red pierrot butterfly (in-flight?) with nice colours. Also welcome back from your family visiting. I also miss my family since they live so far, therefore I could understand your feelings:).
All the best from Izmir,

Hello Goldy,
Nice half open-wing capture of a small Lycaenid that is correctly ID'd by Haraprasan as a Red Pierrot. You did well to achieve as much sharpness as this from this dorsal POV.
TFS this beauty,
Ivan

Hi Goldy,

Glad to see this beautifully shaped butterfly has been identified. The orange and black with the white tips give it a very elegant look.

Jane

Hi Goldy.
I have no idea of the name but I can say picture so colorful which makes your photo very attractive and well framed..Well done..
Best wishes,
Leyla

Hi Goldy,

I nice close-up of the butterfly which is moving above the leaves. The light is enhancing the colors. The subject is well frame. Re the sharpness, there seem to be a light mist on top of the insect. Have a nice day.

Pierre

Hello Goldy. I like the color and the framing of this butterfly. From the tail, it looks like one of the Pierrot. Black and orange is striking against green. Well done. Jusni

Hi Goldy!

Might be a bit unsharp, but colors are fine and the bg blur is also is wonderful! TFS!

Best regards,
Andor

Hi Goldy.
It is so unusual shot. It looks like picture produced with water paints. Very nice subject, pleasant shapes of the insect and leaves. Very interesting creative work. My compliments.
