Hello Goldy,
A fine capture of a Brown Pansy, old but still going strong as it is sunning itself! Fine POV that shows most of its features, including the tatty wings, with good sharpness, colours and lighting in this almost full frame presentation.
Thanks and all the best,

Hello Goldy,
Yes, the buttefly looks a little bit worn out, but the charming poem from Yeats you join to te picture, just makes us look differently to it.
You have chosen a quite difficult angle to take the picture!
We are also so pleased to see a lot of TN-members coming back :-)
Kind regards
Anne

Hello Goldy,
I like the angle on this aging fellow!
Or possibly he has been in a fight...
DoF is accurate and results in good texture and details in the insect while the back is fading out...
Good light renders fine colours, well framed!
Greetings,

Hello Goldy,
What a reminder of how fleshly beauty will eventually fade from all, but we can still keep that inner beauty within us throughout our short lives here on earth. Nicely composed with wonderful detail and colors!!

Goldy,
Here is another poem by the Irishman William Butler Yeats... Unwothy Praise:
O HEART, be at peace, because
Nor knave nor dolt can break
What's not for their applause,
Being for a woman's sake.
Enough if the work has seemed,
So did she your strength renew,
A dream that a lion had dreamed
Till the wilderness cried aloud,
A secret between you two,
Between the proud and the proud.
What, still you would have their praise!
But here's a haughtier text,
The labyrinth of her days
That her own strangeness perplexed;
And how what her dreaming gave
Earned slander, ingratitude,
From self-same dolt and knave;
Aye, and worse wrong than these.
Yet she, singing upon her road,
Half lion, half child, is at peace.
This poor butterfly has seen its day of glory.
We cannot praise its beauty any longer.
Loved it, really.
Mario an Indian now living in Canada.
