Friends, here is another picture of these colourful Painted Grasshoppers that I saw feeding on Crown Flower milkweed at Gurgaon during my visit there on June 21.
I have posted quite a few pictures already as part of the theme I evolved on life forms existing on the milkweed.
Of all the creatures living off the plant, these grasshoppers were the second largest population on this poisonous plant after the Seed Bugs.
One observation that I made on these creatures is that they stand stationary on the plant, as if in sleep, and do not scatter away or hide when approached for a close-up macro picture.
There are two of them in this picture.
Hope you like them.

Though I have not been able to satisfy myself with their exact ID, they may roughly be classified as some Painted Grasshoppers native to Asia.
Regarding the Crown Flower weed that you see in the picture, I have written enough about it in my previous posts of it.

Thanks and have a great day.

Fine capture, Ram!
I like the composition and POV as these two colourful grasshopper nymphs line up to have their picture taken. They look good on the Crown Flower Milkweed especiall as the dark BG sets them off so well in an image with high technical quality.
Thanks for sharing this beauty,
Best wishes, Ivan

Hello Ram,
This is wonderful, you've captured two of these marvellous insects on this lovely flower! I like your diagonal composition and the dark green background is perfect. Great details and bautiful light and colours.
I'm amazed at the wildlife you have in the big city of Delhi! I remember many green parks and avenues though which I hope still remain.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

It is an almost cartoon characteristic fine image..something out of modern day video games...almost unreal...lined up like that...just too much. I think it should have a catagory all of its own!

Hi Ram,

I thought the Painted Grasshopper was beautiful the first time you posted them. This is a double pleasure seeing two together like this in identical poses. They are so colorful and beautifully designed and you show them in perfect detail. I love the diagonal composition.

Hello Ram, I have not read all the comments or critiques but these beautiful Painted Grasshoppers (Poekilocerusictus)are immature and they are on their favourite host plant called Aak (Calotropis procera) in Urdu and Giant Milkweed or Sodom Apple in English. It is a fine medicinal shrub or tree of our region....thanks for sharing a superb photo....warmest regards/Abid
