Close to Lachen, a small township of North Sikkim, I could see many waterfalls merging into Teesta River (main river of Sikkim). While heading for Gangtok, suddenly, just athwart a sharp bend, we came across the first glimpse of a small but picturesque waterfall with rainbow effect, whose water was gushing just across the road. We waited to imbibe this moment to savor its delight at leisure and finally posted for you to have a misty feel of it.................I have given it oil on canvas effect by increasing sharpness.

North Sikkim – the land of Lepchas : LEPCHA, the name of the original aboriginal inhabitants of Sikkim. A peace-loving people, the Lepchas have been repeatedly conquered by surrounding hill-tribes, and their ancient patriarchal customs are dying out. The Lepchas believe that they were lovingly created out of Mother Nature and therefore, they address themselves as Mutanchi Rongkup- Mother’s Loved Ones.
North Sikkim is still pristine example of untouched ecological bio-diversity at its best. The area is sprinkled with lush green hills with rivers gushing forth in its valleys below and sprinkled with spectacular water falls, interspersed with small settlements & a collage of Old resplendent Monasteries. You would pass through some ultimate, pristine & verdant forests through which the torturous road passes.
