Hi again everyone,
This time, presenting the "Red Panda", shot from a distance in Sikkim's wilderness.. A rapidly disappearing species, it is being protected by the Government now. This one was very agitated.. i observed it for along times, clicking pictures rapidly. In this particular shot, the Panda looked straight into the eyes.. of my camera :-)
TFL.

The Red Panda or Lesser Panda, Ailurus fulgens ("shining cat"), is a mostly herbivorous mammal, specialized as a bamboo feeder. It is slightly larger than a domestic cat (40 - 60 cm long, 3 - 6 kg weight). The Red Panda is endemic to the Himalayas in Bhutan, southern China, India, Laos, Nepal, and Burma. Red Panda is the state animal in the Indian state of Sikkim. It is also the mascot of the Darjeeling international festivals. There is an estimated population of less than 2,500 mature individuals. Their population continues to decline due to habitat fragmentation.

Hello San,
This is a very nice shot and probably photoshop skills would have made little more difference. Next time learn Photoshop is due. Lovely sorroundings and great natural areas.

Hi Sangeeta,
You are so lucky to find them in the wild. Once I remember going out on a trek in Maenem Wildlife Sanctuary to find them and came back dissapointed. Where did you see it? The focus is a bit soft but I can understand your excitement on seeing it and it must have been a shot taken hurriedly. Nice eye contact and I like the natural surrounding. Excellent POV and composition. Kudos.

Congratulation. To see an ellusive Red Panda is a great achievement and you have captured a superb image. out of the world. It's a precious experience. From where exactly in Sikkim did you find this. I spent some time in Rhododendron Sanctuary in North Sikkim, but hard luck.
