YUMTHANG VALLEY
It is situated at an altitude of about 11,800 ft and is 149 Kms from Gangtok. It is popularly known as "Valley of Flowers". In spring season, wild flowers such a Primulas and Rhododendrons bathe and landscape in rich colors, making it a tourist hot spot. The Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary over here has 24 species of Rhododendron flowers which bloom from April to May end.
It is surrounded by mountains and seems to touch the heaven as one has to face vertically upwards to see the mountain top. The scenic view is breathtaking.
Hope you like B&W version ! |

Hi Subahsh, not usual to see a black and white pic on TN....and i must say that i dont' like it...ehehe...it's surely good for TL or TE....but i think that the nature must to be show like it is.Have a nice day,LUCIANO
I simply love black and white...perhaps it is due to my age and my early on knowledge and work with it...and black and white in the darkroom gives me so much more control over my work....I wish I could share it...but scans are no longer film....
Good show Dr!
Bob

Hello Subhash !
Contrary to Luciano, I like the idea of black and white - it shows nature in a different way, bringing out feelings or gving an atmosphere that color can't. It works well, here, I think. I also like the composition, with the majestic mountains in the BG and the old pine trees just in front of them.Very well done !
Valérie.
