Lake Klemta, approx 15,000 feet ASL

The beautiful lakes will be the eternal beauty on your way to China from Tawang.

The ethereal quality of high altitude scenic route was heightened through the drive up from Tawang toward Bumla and Klemta. The fierce Indo-China battles I had visualized earlier on came to life - except that khaki-clad men replaced the dragons and ogres. The real story was far from a fairytale. The Chinese in a record eight days had built that road through the mountains in the middle of a bitter winter. That was the road through which they traversed in to the erstwhile NEFA. Those mountains had borne the bullets and blasts of the 1962 Indo-Chinese war.

Hi Subhash,

An amazingly beautiful scene of the mountains and the lake. The misty clouds give it a wonderful atmosphere. It looks so peaceful - hard to realize that battles once took place here. The blues and greens are lovely and you have composed this perfectly.

Jane

A pristine wilderness at high altitude but so very intriguingly beautiful, Subhash. You have been to places, no doubt.
I am amazed that there is so much green cover at that altitude.
It feels strange to visualize that a 'war' happened here almost half a century ago.
Thanks for taking us to this place.
Regards,
Ram

Hello Subhash,
talk about a rare landscape view. This to me represents one of the remotest regions on earth. Yet there is beauty and as you explained even wars were fought over it. I find your composition very good, the road serves an essential role to frame and give the picture perspective. Well done, Subhash.
Best regards from not as remote Switzerland ,
Dietrich
