[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is my first butterfly picture. This is very tiny one and generally restless. I waited for this one to sit on the leaf and it then stared climbing down when this picture was taken. I would like to find out what is its scientific name or which butterfly species it belongs.

Welcome to TN, Amar.
The focus is not very sharp here. The date on the image can be cropped off.
Keep shooting and all the best.

Bonita mariposa. Sus colores son estupendos,lástima que se vea con un poco de ruido. Hice un pequeño workshop con ella. Espero no te moleste.
Bienvenido a TN Amar.
Saludos, JL.

Hello Amar

The composition is good,I like the butterfly very much. The colours are nice.I agree that the focus is a bit soft, perhaps try a tripod. Also the date stamp is distracting.Welcome to TN and hope to see more lovely butterfly shots like this one.

Good picture Amar. It even has the tail. Turn off date in the picture.

Hi Amar,

Hi Welcome to TN Amar.
This is "Red peirrot" a beautiful butterfly which i dont have in my collection yet:-(.
That date is distracting and the picture is soft too.
I'm just sharing what i do to shoot butterflies.

1. Go Parallel
2. Use appropriate F-stop.
3. Focus on the eyes.
4. use a stand

by doing this i make sure the entire subject is within DOF.

The scientific name for the same is
Namaste Narayanan,
species identification:
-- Talicada nyseus
-- family: Lycaenidae
Best wishes, Peter
