This is a caterpillar of Atlas moth (Attacus atlas) shot at my favorite hunting ground "Omkar hills".

The Atlas moth (Attacus atlas) is a large saturniid moth found in the tropical and subtropical forests of Southeast Asia, southern China, common across the Malay archipelago, Thailand to Indonesia. In India, Atlas moths are cultivated for their silk in a non-commercial capacity; unlike that produced by the related Silkworm moth (Bombyx mori), Atlas moth silk is secreted as broken strands. This brown, wool-like silk is thought to have greater durability and is known as fagara. Atlas moth cocoons have been employed as purses in Taiwan.

Hello Goutham,
This capture of an Attacus atlas caterpillar taken in the wild is pretty close to perfect and I have no negative points to make! :))
It is fine illustration of a species that was reared by me when I was young and used to rear different species of silkmoth caterpillars as a hobby.
Thanks and have a good week,
Ivan

Hi Goutham.
Once more breathtaking art shot of this beauty. Pictured scene and composition of the image are simply great. Reproduction of all details and features of the caterpillar and leaf are outstanding. 3D-effect of the shot is terrific. Colour tones (especially at the bottom corners) and transitions are sweet. Bravo.
Alexei.

Hallo Goutham
Once again a very close and clear approach of this lovely caterpillar. The details of the different colours and features are photographed and portrayed beautifully. Your excellent technical skills are well shown in this image. Focus, sharpness, composition and viewpoint is tops. The velvet texture is shown well. I cannot say more than “BRAVO” and well done. This image is worth all the positive feedback it got up to now, and still will get in the future. Thanks for sharing this brightly coloured specimen. Best regards.
Anna

Hello Goutham,
Again an excellent shot of a caterpillar. Perfect light to show the beautiful blue spots on the green skin of the Atlas Moth caterpillar. We have this kind of caterpillars in our Botanical garden too, but they are under glass:-). Excellent picture under all aspects.
Kind regards
Anne

Hello
As all your picture - also this one is great. Perfectly composed with great sharpness and colours. TFS
