The Moth
Family: Noctuidae (owlet moths)

I could not get the Id of this moth which I found in lalbagh yesterday.
The design of the fore wings are such its almost difficult to focus on them, the pattern looks broken to merge with its habitat.
I will be happy if anybody ID this species.

Hello Nagraj,
A fine macro of a species of Noctuid moth unknown to me but which an expert on Indian noctuids should be able to ID as it has been taken from a fine POV with excellent sharpness, colours and lighting against a pleasing natural BG.
Thanks and have a good week,
Ivan

Hi Nagraj,

Indeed the patterns on the moth looks confusing...and sharpness too, nice point of view, the habitat looks cool and great.

Ciao Nagaraj, great capture of fantastic moth, I never see before, beautiful macro with good details and splendid sharpness, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hi Nagaraj,
I think this belongs to the Catocala genus of Noctuidae. Very well composed shot with sharp details. Thanks a lot for sharing.

A very special moth with these geometrical and artistical patterns on the wings. Well composed picture and natural colors like always.
Hope you can find the right ID.
