[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Blue Banded Bee (Amegilla Cingulata) is an Australian native bee. These bees are very important for the production of food and contribute to at least 30% of crops in Australia. Although the Blue Banded Bee is native to Australia, it is also found in Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, East Timor and Malaysia.

It appears to live in tropical and subtropical regions. The bees inhabit urban areas, woodlands, forests and heath areas. The Blue Banded Bee collects the majority of its nectar from blue flowers. The bees use a process that involves clinging onto flowers and vibrating powerfully, which causes the food source to shoot out.

They only have a limited foraging range of 300m, while females make at least nine foraging flights per day. It's about 10-12mm in length.

I took this on my terrace and I was quite intrigued to see this one cling on to the cemented surface even when the wind was blowing very strong. Sorry about the watermark, but few days back I had a bad experience where a person copied a part of my image and got away with the best photo of the month, hosted by Epson. Trying to figure out a better way. Sorry!!!

An amazing shot here , Subhrajyoti. Love the exposure here , though the hi key foreground distracts a bit . Am sorry about the stolen shot , but thieves are ingenious anyways and will take this too . I would rather , that you post shots which are just 650 pixels at the longer end and sub 100 kb in file size.

Fine observation and capture with good composition and exposure, this behavior is very strange and am trying to find out why they have do this. Yes, watermark is bit disturbance and may be you got some help already. tfs.
