23cm. Distinctive supercilium and broad white stripe below the eye.
The diet includes fruit, termites and insects.

They carve out hollows in large vertical trunk portions of trees with their bills, which are used for nesting and roosting.

Fine portrait of the the Barbet, the species is not that pretty like other birds but here it looks beautiful. fine details and very good background, fantastic blue, very rare. I see some shadows on the bird which robbed the yellow beak its brilliance. tfs.

This is an absolutely beautiful bird. The detail on the plumage is very striking and a feast to the eye, and the green colour real magic. I would love to see one of these in real life. I think I'll jump up and down like a school kid out of excitement. The fine feathers around the beak is eye-catching. This photo is perfectly framed, has great exposure and very good details. Thanks for sharing.
