Erebus macrops, Linnaeus 1770
Catocalinae sub-family
Noctuidae family

Thanks Horia (that was very fast) for the ID.

Well, this is not the correct ID.
I tried to get correct ID but no luck, if anybody could ID this, I will be happy to know.
Yesterday I found this moth which was almost 15cm of wingspan hiding in a place not so ideal (check exposure time) but I captured this frame for ID purpose. I could have used built in flash but restrained because to retain its natural coloration. Flash will alter its colors unless off camera flash used for fill in.
I rotated this frame from vertical for better viewing.
Hope that somebody ID this moth.

Hello Nagaraj,
A very impressive moth, it almost hynotises us! You made a very interesting catch! The picture lacks a little bit of contrast, I just see that there is a WS done, which gives a little bit more visual impact to your good picture.
Very interesting posting
Kind regards
Anne
