[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a very common species in India, where it is often quite tame and easily approachable. It can often be seen foraging around rubbish heaps on the outskirts of villages, as well as in more natural habitats.

This is a stocky species with a short neck, short thick bill and buff-brown back. In summer, adults have long neck feathers. Its appearance is transformed in flight, when it looks very white due to the colour of the wings.The Indian Pond Heron's breeding habitat is marshy wetlands in warm countries. They nest in small colonies, often with other wading birds, usually on platforms of sticks in trees or shrubs.

After along time we all went to Mavathur lake yesterday. Though i could not photograph mush of the species, i took this heron in breeding Plumage. It suddenly pluffed the wings,- may be to allow wind to pass through wings-, i like this posture, as the bird is looking for some fish in the lake.

What a fantastic capture! The low POV works perfectly with this and I love the feathers moving like unruly hair. Such wonderful details on the plumage! The composition is terrific and you also nailed the exposure. The sharpness is beyond reproach.

A good shot again as usual! but rarity lies in an un-common pose of this common bird, the eye looks like protruded out much from the eye socket! and it adds to the concentration of the bird in fishing and ignorance of your presence !
