I took this shot during my last BR Hills (A Jungle at Karnataka District in India) trip on day 1. The Fish owl was sitting near a water body. It was late afternoon. The soft sunlight was on it. This magnificent bird made my trip to BR Hills very memorable.

You are correct... the soft light on your fish owl is just lovely. I also like the old snag he is sitting upon. Compositionally I like him off center but I think I would be more comfortable with a bit more space on the right and bottom and a little less on the top (putting the owl's face in the upper left quadrant)??????? I'd have to try it to see if that works.
