Common Banded Peacock: It's a swift flier with wavering flight, occurring in the plains and in the hills up to 2000 m . distributed in the dry hot parts of India especially in parts of South India, madhyapradesh, orissa, and west Bengal, wherever its larval host plant , the satinwood tree is available. Abundant mostly during south – west monsoon season. They are quite big and wing span is about 110-120mm.
Sorry, but couldn't get a better one, since this one was really restless and had to use my tele lens, hence it's quite cluttered. |
