[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The bird in this picture is Cattle Egret, Bubulcus ibis. One can distinguish it from Little egret by colour of the bill which is yellow ,not black. During breeding season it acquires an orange buff on head, neck and back.(You can see the orange buff on its head in the picture.)
They are mostly seen with grazing cattle, running in and out between their legs and lunging out to seize insects disturbed by their movements amongst the grass. They eat chiefly insects like grasshoppers, frogs, lizards, fish etc. They roosts at night in favourite trees sharing it with mynahs, crows and other birds.

I took this picture with Nikon D80/ Nikkor 80-400 vr hand held.

Welcome to TrekEarth, Sukumaran!
Although this the first shot you post here, I can see you're no amateur at photography. Your egret is very sharp and clear and distinct against an excellent blurred background. Beautiful colours and great composition, and you even provided us with an informative note (more than most beginners here, I guess). Your shot is absolutely fantastic!
Thanks for sharing!
