Hi all,
Can you spot me (camouflage) most of u cant but for sure you can all hear me!!!!
Today myself,Satish, Murali, Ganesh(coolnik) and Akshay visited Omkar hills... We were welcomed by shrillllllll noise of these beautiful insects (Cicada). After careful observation of the tree stumps, we found couple of these fellows having a blast. The orange color on the abdomen is coz it was vibrating it to make that sound!!!
I Stood in front of this fellow for 10 mins without moving to capture this shot!
For more info on cicada visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cicada.
PS. This insect made lot of noise and ear's are still buzzing with its sound..... all these noise resulted in something good for this fellow which i'll post in days to come :-)
Thanks for dropping by
Cheers,
Goutham |

Hello Goutham,
you can hear them but nevertheless it is not easy to discover them. When coming closer they stop 'singing' and when you are too close they fly off
and the search starts again.
However, you managed to obtain a fine picture with patience. The head including the eyes
and the antennae are well shown.
Best wishes, Peter
Hello Goutham,
Good POV and sharpness.
Strange eyes:-)
Well done

Hi Goutham,
A fine capture of this well camouflaged Cicada. Excellent composition and sharp details. Thanks a lot for sharing.
Hi Goutham!
SE Asian species of Cicada are not too often seen in TN's gallery. This species is rather wide, I do not remember if I saw it earlier. Very nice camouflage, I believe that it is impossible to see it from distance bigger that some 40-50cm. And of course it can be recerded thanks to its noise :)
TFS and have a nice afternoon,
Radomir

Hello Goutham,
a fantastic macro shot of this amazing little insect!
Very detailed and extremely sharp.
Superb composition and parallel POV.
Great DOF too.
You must have eagle-eyes to have spotted this!
Very well done!
Joe
p.s I tried a few macros without using a flash, using your advice, and will post some soon!
