Hi all,
This is another gem from Omkar hills that I recorded on my last visit there.
This butterfly is so small (as big as a pea) and it was a challenge shooting this. I could not avoid that leaf in the foreground and this fellow decided to sit there.
Cheers,
Goutham R

Hi Goutham,
it's perfect this blue even with the small twig in front. Background, composition, sharpness, and particularly the lighting are ideal. Very pleasing to look at. Well done, Goutham!
Best regards
Dietrich

Hello Goutham

Very nice picture of this little - or should I say tiny - butterfly. Excellent focus with lots of details on the bf. Very vivid colours and a nice blurred background to set it off. I see you used a tripod and I see a lot of thhis kind of pictures from other photographers who also use a tripod. Well, I always wondered and still do - how on earth do you get the time to set up a tripod for these shots. I have tried it a lot of times and when the tripod is ok the bug is gone. So I always do it handheld down on my old knees.

I have been off and on to this picture several times and I like - no question but the more I look the more I feel to give a little advice - a personal matter of course. I know that the D80 takes pictures in 2:3 proportions and it looks like that is what you have cropped.Though I think if this is the uncropped picture you should have stepped back a little and then back home cropped it to 3:4 meaning cropped out some of the background in front of the bf and added a little below the bf you would have a better pov and also the diagonal would have made a stronger composition. Tjis is a personal thing of course and I do like the picture very much.

Anyway you did a great job on this.

Hi Goutham,
very fine macro of this beautiful little butterfly!
Tack-sharp at 1/30 with amazing detail.
Brilliant DOF and parallel POV.
Superb composition too.
The leaf in the BG isn't too bad anyway.

Very well done!

Joe

Hi Goutham

Good shot of this fine looking tiny butterfly.
Excellent sharpness and details, especially at such a slow shutter speed. Compositionis fine considering the position of the butterfly.

Hello Goutham,
WOW! another superb macro shot! The best thing I like about your macro is that you always come out with immaculate sharpness and details on the subject.Inspite of the disturbing leaf the picture is a lovely one.

Hi Goutham,

They say good things come in small packages and this pea size butterfly is beautiful. I can't believe it's so tiny - which shows that I have not seen a Pea Blue before. The markings are gorgeous with lovely colors and fine details. A wonderful macro.
