Hi all,
I'm exited that i'm one short of 300 pics on TN. Its been an amazing journey through out ! with lot of good experiences like meeting friends from TN in Netherlands, getting to know many ppl from India... etc the list goes on. Any way the countdown has started ( I did not notice that I'm reaching a milestone on TN :-) until i visited my intro page!! )
This is a Twany eagle juvenile shot today morning, this guy was being disturbed by a fly which you can faintly see in the frame and was trying to catch it and in the process gave me , Satish and Vinay ample opportunity to take pics.

The Tawny Eagle, Aquila rapax, is a large bird of prey. It is about 62–72 cm in length and has a wingspan of 165–185cm. Like all eagles, it belongs to the family Accipitridae. It was once considered to be closely related to the migratory Steppe Eagle, Aquila nipalensis, and the two forms have previously been treated as conspecific. They were split based on pronounced differences in morphology and anatomy.

It breeds in most of Africa both north and south of the Sahara Desert and across tropical southwestern Asia to India. It is a resident breeder which lays 1–3 eggs in a stick nest in a tree, crag or on the ground.

Throughout its range it favours open dry habitats, such as desert, semi-desert, steppes, or savannah.

What a stunning pose! This eagle doesn't care about you; his attention is elsewhere. The POV is superb as is the DOF.

There's action here; the eagle can hear or see something that is unknown to the viewer, creating a story of it's own.

Clarity is excellent and I love the way the sun illuminates this raptor. Lovely job, just fantastic. The lighting is also great as are your notes.

Hi Goutham. The fly has helped you in this shot making the Eagle turn around making a nice pose. You have captured this one with good detail and natural colours. I shall look out fot No 300. well done TFS. good notes too.
Nick..

Goutham,

A brilliant find. Such a nice shot. I wish it was troubled by a bumble bee than a fly. The fly is visible though. The Tawny Eagle seems to be surveying the bee with disdain showing its character and power.

What a fascinating, almost dramatic, posture you captured this bird in, Goutham!
Yes, I can see the fly too.
Remarkable sharpness and detail despite challenging angle of light.
