Carpenter Bee - Xylocupa Violacea.
Corect me if the ID is wrong.
Before getting busy visiting flowers, these carpenter bees are seen perched on plants and basking in the sunlight. Though they are harmless, they look ferocious. This fellow perched here took off when I tried to get close and I got into a good position expecting the bee to comeback, as they like the vantage points. The bee came cameback and from a good position I captured him, looking for that pattern and colors of the wings. Little more depth would have been better. I had to settle for this depth as I was not using tripod and the shutter speed was only 1/45 sec.
Man yee posted one carpenter bee (different species, I think) which had a white hairy back. Getting details in blacks, a bit tricky business.

Hello Nagaraj,

What an interesting way you found to render the structure and color of insect's wings. Light is falling in a very inspired way giving depth to wing's surface and reflecting nice color tones.

Thank you for sharing,
Cristian

Hi Nagaraj,
Beautiful Pic with fine details, a perfect Macro!

Hi Nagaraj,

Well handled especially the light on the wings to show such detail!! Good detail in the light and dark colours and that is not easy. Well done.

Robin

Hello Nagaraj, Lovely and just lovely. Superb focus and sharp picture. Among the best of your shot with excellent BG. I like the POV with the eyes on the top showing partially. The wings pattern are just amazing. From the shot it appears the fly was just about to move from the flower or about to sit. Good shot and TFS Ganesh

Hello Nagaraj,
You've caught this Bee from a nice angle to catch the light on those beautiful wings. Great focus on the shiny and smooth thorax and abdomen too showing. A fine soft background and well composed too.
TFS and regards, Ulla

Hello Nagaraj,
thanks for your telling me about the colours. sometimes i wander, i have a feeling that most of the problems lies in my eyes. a lot of tendency towards being over.
Your shot above is very impressive, well muted background and superbs clarity and sharpness.
Nice composition of its perching position, a bit diagonal.

regards,
Foozi
