[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi Friends,

This is the first time I have ever shot a dragon fly. Last weekend I visited a zoo in my city. When my kids and wife was busy watching animals and having fun, I was running behind this helicopter like insect in the bushes. It was continuously flying from bush to bush. Almost on my half click it was changing its location and I missed him for several times. Finally he gave me a chance for a full click.

I tried a lot to find its name on the net. The nearest name I found was Ditch Jewel - Brachythemis contaminata. I am not sure if thats correct, so have not named the photo with that name.

Hope you like it.

Thanks for viewing,
Kedar

It is a female Scarlet Skimmer, Kedar.
I'm almost an expert on this species.:)
The male is actually scarlet red and is seen less frequently than the female.
It is a very good first dragonfly image you have captured. The POV, focus, details and colours are all first class.
Well done and keep shooting.
Ram

Hello Kedar!

Congratulations on your 1st dragonfly! ... this is a spectacularly golden insect, a clear grasp, building density and the background color to highlight details of the insect. Very well-done!
