This was Sunday morning, when I was reading the news paper in my bedroom. I heard lot many Tailor birds and bulbuls making noise near my window. I got up and saw what’s going on. I saw a cat in the parking and thought that they are alarming each other about the danger. I just waited there to see the movements of the birds and the cat. To my surprise I got to see the small baby Tailorbird sitting on the branch of the coconut tree. Then I realized why the noise is of such a high Db. This one was very small and cute baby of Tailorbird. I ran in to get my camera. I tried catching it from the best possible angle. The baby was trying to learn flying and its friends and parents were alarming it about the danger on the ground. All the birds were very worried about this cute baby who has just come out of the nest (I think). It was just jumping from one place to other but was note really able to fly. It has chosen this branch where it was firmly seated. After being seated there for 2-3 minutes the cat moved away from this tree. Now the baby was safe and to my surprise it literally flew to the next tree without any problem. I think the pressure was playing on the babies mind earlier. Now it was out of my site and the alarm calls also stopped. Hope they all are safe.

From Wikipedia
The Common Tailorbird, Orthotomus sutorius, is a songbird formerly placed in the "Old World warbler" assemblage, but nowadays in the family Cisticolidae.

This "typical" tailorbird is a resident breeder in tropical south Asia from Pakistan and India to south China, and Indonesia. It has also been spotted in Great Britain.

This passerine bird is typically found in open woodland, scrub and gardens. Tailorbirds get their name from the way their nest is constructed. The edges of a large leaf are pierced and sewn together with plant fibre or spider's web to make a cradle in which the actual grass nest is built. The Common Tailorbird builds its nest in a shrub and lays 3–5 eggs.

These 13-cm-long warblers are brightly coloured, with bright green upperparts and whitish underparts. The crown of the head is chestnut. They have short rounded wings, a short tail, strong legs and a long decurved bill. The tail is typically held upright, like a wren's.

The sexes are identical, except that the male has long central tail feathers in the breeding season. Young birds are duller.

There are two endemic races in Sri Lanka which retain the male's long tail feathers all year.

Like most warblers, the Common Tailorbird is insectivorous. The song is a loud cheeup-cheeup-cheeup.

The baby Tailor Bird looks vulnerable; thank God, it was safe.
