Wow Rathika. Great shot. You obviously didn't panic when you saw this. Very well frozen. Good depth of field. The birds stand out well against the sky. Congrats on your new lens. Regards, Irmgard.

Radhika,

We just now returned from a place near Mysore where we spent a day to get some pictures of the Green Bee eater. We did not get any decent pictures after spending nearly 8 hours at a spot infested with Green Bee eaters. At the end of the day, I understood the difficult nature of shooting this beautiful bird. I come back and see this nice picture of two Green Bee Eaters in close-up view. What is more they are sitting on a nice artistic perch and are also engaged. This is a wonderful picture. If you can tell us the secret behind approaching this bird, it would help us.TFS.

Murali Santhanam

Hello Rathika,
I wonder if I have ever seen a bird mating picture on this site.
From my point of view, this is a pioneering shot for which you deserve all the credit.
Your new lens has done the job very well. It is a brilliant composition with just the subjects and the thin branch of a tree they have chosen to mate on.
Regards,
Ram

Hello Rathika,
Superbly captured moment with fantastic color, details and composition, very well done Rathika.
Rick

This looks uncomfortable. What a moment for you. Nice colour for what is probably a very bright sky.I know that difficulty in high shots with this exposure.
